“This is the Time to Remember”
Protege Show Choir Camp is a camp for students grades 3-12. We pride ourselves in developing skills that will benefit all students in the world of show choir!
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, camp will be 9-3 for Elementary, and 9-4 for Middle and High School. On Friday, Elementary will report at NOON, and stay until the show at 6pm. On Friday, Middle and High School report at 9am and stay until the show at 6.
Food: All campers must pack and bring their own lunch daily. Light snacks and beverages will be for sale at our concessions table.
Workshops: Each day, the choirs will receive a different performance workshop! Some may include jazz, hip hop, step, irish dance, audition coaching, leadership, and/or more!
Attire: Elementary, Middle, and High School Treble should be dressed in comfortable, school-appropriate clothing. High School Mixed is color blocked, so each day boys will wear a white shirt while girls wear black, and alternate each day. ALL CAMPERS MUST WEAR SNEAKERS and have hair pulled back out of their face. For safety purposes, please refrain from wearing jewelry to camp aside from studded earrings.
Show: All 4 groups will perform in our show on Friday at 6pm. Tickets are $5 and open to the public. All ticket proceeds benefit our scholarship fund.
High School Mixed Staff
Brendan Jennings is the Director of Vocal Music at John Burroughs High School, of which he is an alumnus. He heads a nationally acclaimed music program that features seven highly accomplished performing ensembles, a cutting-edge technical theater program and nearly 300 students. His choirs have won numerous awards and made appearances on stages all over the world. Brendan is a sought-after musical director, clinician and vocal teacher. He received two Bachelors degrees and a teaching credential from the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music and a Masters of Music in Choral Conducting at California State University, Los Angeles.
Dominic Matas is a dancer, singer, and choreographer based out of Los Angeles; having worked Show Choirs all over the country, he has over a decade of experience cultivating groups to achieve their highest potential, and has garnered numerous accolades for both Visuals and Show Design. Dominic has been seen as a singer/dancer on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Dancing With the Stars, and America's Got Talent. Dominic has an immense passion for teaching dance, as well as the discipline it takes to be a successful performer. An alumnus of John Burroughs High School, he is currently in his 13th year of choreographing for his Alma mater, and now resides as Head Choreographer for the school’s Varsity show choir, “Powerhouse”.
High School Treble Staff
Zack Triscari is a Nashville-based choreographer, music director, show designer, clinician, and adjudicator with more than a decade of experience in the competitive show choir world. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Otterbein University.
Zack recently relocated from Ohio to Nashville to work in Artist Development and Creative Consulting, while continuing his work as a choreographer and show designer. Over the years Zack has contributed to more than 150 productions, working with 50+ ensembles across several states. Many of these groups have earned awards such as Best Visuals, Best Vocals, Best Show Design, Divisional Championships, and Overall Grand Championships. He is also frequently hired as a clinician and adjudicator nationwide.
From 2021–2025, Zack served as Vocal Director for ETC Heid’s School of Musical Arts, a nonprofit community organization providing a competitive show choir experience to students. Throughout all four years, he directed ETC’s award-winning treble ensemble, "Rouge," guiding the team to multiple undefeated seasons and consistent top placements. "Rouge" also made Herstory as the first treble ensemble in the state to win an Overall Grand Championship. During his final two years, Zack also directed the SATB ensemble, "The All Americans," leading the group to its first undefeated season.
Corinne Matheson: Corinne Matheson is a current Dance Education major at Hofstra University in Long Island, NY, graduating this May! Corinne has been teaching dance since 2017 and has choreographed for musicals and concerts at Manchester Middle School. She has spent the past two summers as a choreographer for the Protege Elementary Camp. She is very excited to be jumping back into the show choir world. Corinne graduated from Clover Hill High School where she was a four-year show choir member as well as a dance and vocal captain for “Iridescence”. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to share her passion for dance with a new group of students.
Middle School Staff
Annie Hales is an award-winning choreographer, flautist, vocalist, and Director of Music at St. Joseph School in Martinsburg, West Virginia. She teaches elementary general music, directs grades 4–8 band, stages the annual elementary Christmas musical, and founded both Genesis—the school’s first-ever competitive show choir—and the St. Joseph’s Children’s Choir. In its first season, Genesis both debuted and retired their competition show at the Martinsburg American Classic, earning awards for Best Female Soloist, Best Male Soloist, Best Sportsmanship, Best Choreography, Best Vocals, and Grand Champion.
Prior to her work in West Virginia, Annie spent three years teaching in Mitchell, SD, where she served as Band Director and Assistant Director for the nationally-recognized competitive show choir, Friend de Coup. During her tenure, “FDC” earned numerous caption awards and multiple Grand Champion titles. Annie credits this experience as foundational to her growth as an educator and director, noting the lasting mentorship, collaboration, and community that shaped her approach to show choir and as an educator. She remains deeply grateful to her Mitchell family.
Annie earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Music Education from Northern State University (Aberdeen, SD). Beyond the classroom, she enjoys baking, dancing, painting, and life with her incredible husband, Tom. While she misses the Midwest, she is happy to call the “Eastern Panhandle” her new home. Guided by a belief that the arts change lives, Annie continues to inspire students, educators, and communities through music, movement, and meaningful performance.
Nick Clark
Nicole Dudley is a recent graduate of James Madison University, where she earned her B.M. in Music Education. While at JMU, she served as President of the ACDA chapter for two years, Choral Representative for the Collegiate VMEA chapter, and Choral Librarian. She won the 2024 JMU ACDA Choral Conducting Competition, conducting the JMU Chorale and Festival Choir at ChoralFest. Her final performance with the JMU Choral Area was at Carnegie Hall with the JMU Carnegie Hall Collective. Nicole has also choreographed for JMU choirs and elementary, middle, and high schools across Virginia. Outside the School of Music, she welcomed new students as a member of the JMU Orientation team and worked at Explore More Discovery Museum!
Nicole’s love for show choir began in high school, where she was a dance captain in each of Midlothian High School’s show choirs. As a proud Midlothian native, she returned home to student teach in Chesterfield County. Her incredible placements included Cosby High School—where she worked with their choral ensembles, including award-winning show choirs Rhapsody and Spotlight during their 2025 competition season—and Midlothian Middle School during their Spring Concert season. Finishing her undergraduate journey on the stage where she had her first chorus concert was a full-circle moment.
Nicole is passionate about team building and creating community in and outside the music classroom. Her love of performing was fostered and grown in a children & community choir,where she even made lifelong friendships. She is thrilled to be joining The Show Choir Studio team to help young singers find their voice and build community with one another!
Benjamin Frost is a music educator who has spent the past 3 years teaching at Hopkins Road Elementary and Providence Elementary, graduating from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland,VA. He was Bass section leader in his High School Chamber choir for 3 years, also participating in NJ All-State and All-Eastern Choir. During the summer of his junior and senior year, he toured across the east coast with an A Capella group known as the Rock n’ Roll Chorus based out for New Jersey, performing with rock legends such as Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Kenny Loggins, and more. During his collegiate years, Ben was part of numerous Concert/University Choirs, serving as the President of R-MC’s Choral Program his senior year. He also spent two years performing in R-MC’s Show Choir LUXE. Ben has spent the previous two summers directing the elementary group for The Show Choir Studio, with numerous cameos across their winter/spring shows. He is also now the director of their Sound Wave show choir!
